Monday, October 2:
Gender 101: Moving Beyond the Binary - Gutman Conference Center 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Gender 101: Moving Beyond the Binary is an interactive workshop that aims to build awareness of the diversity of gender identities on campus. Through presentation and discussion, we hope to build the capacity of individuals to recognize and respect all genders and provide tools and ideas for the HGSE community to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment.

Wednesday, October 11:
The Challenge of Undoing Racism with author David Billings ("Deep Denial") - Askwith Hall 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

David Billings has been an anti-racist trainer and organizer with The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond since 1983. Billings has worked with anti-racist organizing groups across the country, including AntiRacist Alliance and New York Education Equity Alliance. He currently consults with Citizens for Economic Equity in New Orleans.

During his talk Rev.Billings will challenge us to look beyond the surface and really consider the minute workings of systemic oppression, even as they influence our own work culture.

Saturday, October 14:
Apple Picking at Honeypot Hill Orchards in Stow, MA 10:00am - 3:00pm

We will meet on Appian Way to board a yellow school bus to Honey Pot Hill Orchard.
Students are invited to bring their families and children.  Students are advised to bring cash if they are planning to enter the orchard.  More information about Honey Pot Hill Orchards can be found at http://www.honeypothill.com
