Celebration of Cultures and Identities - Gutman Library First Floor 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 4:
Title IX and Beyond: Resources, Law, and Policies for Educators - Eliot Lyman 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

The certificate program of the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention & Response (OSAPR) and the Central Title IX Office offers a unique opportunity for HGSE students to learn about skills and tools in navigating resources, policies, and laws on sexual and gender-based harassment. Through scenario-based learning, workshop participants will be invited to adapt different roles (from guidance counselors to School Board members) as they seek solutions for various plot twists. Students who attend the entire workshop from 9am to 1pm will receive a certificate. Tuesday, November 14:
Some Girls Film Screening and Panel Discussion - Larsen G08 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Some Girls is a feature documentary that explores issues of identity within the Latina-American community by focuing on a group of teenage girls in a Bronx-based suicide prevention program who feel rejected by mainstream America, but are transformed through an exploration of their roots. The panel discussion will feature producer Henry Chalfant, director Raquel Cepeda, and social worker Beatriz Coronel.
