Student of Color Recruitment Programs for Prospective Students
For 24 years, HGSE has held recruitment programs that allow prospective students of diverse backgrounds to interact with members of the community while exploring academic programs leading to a doctoral or master's degree.

The Student of Color Orientation introduces students to important people, places, and resources which are helpful for success and well-being throughout the year.
Celebration of Diversity
A much anticipate fall event, formerly known as "the Multicultural Festival" is an evening celebration of the many talents and cultural expressions of the HGSE community. Students share artistic talents, learn about the affinity organizations active on campus, and enjoy a variety of tasty foods.
The Alumni of Color Conference (AOCC)
AOCC aims to inspire and transform education by convening scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students concerned with issues of race, class, and education. The theme of the 12th annual conference was “From Dreams to Movements: Education, Inequality, and Justice,” which emphasized inclusive, critical dialogue honoring diverse perspectives and experiences in the HGSE community.

The ALANA Anthology
The ALANA Anthology is a fine arts publication that showcases the literary and visual arts talents of students and allies. Copies can be found in the HGSE Office of Student Affairs.
Diversity Matters Newsletter
The newsletter highlights multicultural events as well as student perspectives on campus.
Getting Involved Around Harvard University
The Harvard Graduate Council is the official University-wide student government of the 12 graduate and professional schools at Harvard University.
