The Student Council represents HGSE students in all degree programs and serves four core functions:

  1. Improving the quality of students’ academic, professional, social, and personal development while at HGSE;
  2. Acting as liaison between the students and the faculty/administration;
  3. Advocating for the incorporation of student views and opinions in the formulation of policies and procedures governing HGSE and Harvard University; and
  4. Promoting and funding student-initiated academic, professional, personal development and social programs.

Serving on Student Council is a leadership and professional development opportunity. Student Council members collaborate with peers across programs; develop, refine, and apply leadership skills; and engage with students, faculty, and staff on matters of real and timely importance.
